In 2001 our founder, Jason Turner, was driving through Royal Oak, MI and thought it would be a great spot for a Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwich shop. Jason had worked as a delivery driver at one of the first franchised Jimmy John’s locations while enrolled at Western Michigan University.

Within weeks of driving through, Jason noticed a Jimmy John’s awning go up and he knew it would only be a short amount of time before Southeast Michigan was developed with Jimmy John's and perhaps little-to-no opportunities left.

Hungry to get out from behind a desk, Jason jumped at the opportunity to sign the 2nd multi-unit deal in Southeast Michigan. On April 1st of 2003, after a long road of finding a location and a way to fund this first location, we opened our first Jimmy John's!

Team members have grown with us! Drivers have become managers, In-shoppers have become Area Managers, and Managers have even moved on to own and operate their very own Jimmy John’s locations.

Working diligently with great teammates has been the key to our success. As of November 2017, we and our affiliates operate 17 locations and employ 400+ employees.

Understand that nobody internally is EVER responsible for your paycheck, it’s the consumer that ensures our financial success. We MUST hold the consumer in the highest regard and NEVER lose sight of that…EVER!
